Thank you

I had far too much to say to put it on Facebook, which meant twitter was a lost cause, so here I am on my blog again.

I posted earlier this week about my experience with anorexia and the responses I’ve received have been amazing.  I wanted to write a proper thank you note (my mum taught me well!) so here goes:

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read my post. It means something that you set aside a few minutes to read my words.

Thank you to everyone who felt it was good enough to share with others. It’s very humbling to see that something that was very hard for me to write and even harder for me to publish was forwarded with love and respect for others to read. I’m honoured by your appreciation.

Thank you to everyone who starred my tweet or ‘liked’ my post. Thank you to everyone who commented and offered words of support and thanks, publicly or privately. You’ve all boosted my self-esteem this week and I know I’ll be looking at this some time in the future when I need a little pick-me-up.  I’m lucky to have such supportive people in my life.

And most importantly, thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who shared their own stories with me. I’m truly honoured that you’ve had the courage to tell me about your experiences with mental ‘illness,’ whether your own or your friend’s, and I hope that you continue to share your stories, if only one person at a time. The more we talk about our ‘problems,’ the more stereotypes break down.

Every day I face a challenge, some days more of a challenge than others, but having the support of friends like you makes it so much easier.
